Content Marketing Tips

By Katie O’Muireagain

Content marketing is crucial for any business. Its a publishing technique used to create and distribute content to relevant target audiences. The keyword is ‘valuable’. To be effective at content marketing, the content you create needs to be valuable to your target audience. The objective, to drive your audience to consume it and develop the impulse to purchase your product or service. Here are some content marketing tips to help your strategy.

When it comes to developing and implementing content marketing strategies, it’s not always easy to know exactly where to start. Some strategies can be better developed with an agile approach.

Tip 1: Tell better stories.

The art of storytelling is a true art that can be developed. Learn how to talk to your audience, capture their attention and drive them to action. How do you do this? Create a story that is relatable to the reader and make sure to use an authentic (writing) voice.

Tip 2: Answer the questions your prospects and customers ask.

A great foundation for an article or blog title is a question or series of questions your customers might ask themselves on a regular basis. Are they confused about your process? Interested in where your products come from? Do they want to sell their products in your store? Are they unclear how to get signed up for your services? Use these questions to create content around.

Tip 3: Lead your audience through the marketing funnel.

Use content marketing to walk your customer through your marketing funnel by supplying a step-by-step guide. A good way to do this would be through your company’s history. Tell about where you came from, where you are now and give insight to what is coming down the pipeline in the future. Each of these stages can be broken out into different blogs or articles.

Tip 4: Learn the skill of writing headlines.

Your content may be written well, aimed at your target audience and relatable. But, if the headline doesn’t grab your audience’s attention, you won’t see results. The headline is still the step and tactic that attracts attention. Without it you won’t see user clicks to your content. Practice and be willing to change the headline at a moment’s notice if the current headline isn’t performing.
